As part of its commitment to economic development, including the organisation of events targeted to members of the images and creative industries sector, CITIA is offering a new type of meeting: The Grand Amphi.
The first one will take place on Thursday 4th May at 6 pm at La Turbine in Cran-Gevrier. Nicolas Nova will be hosting a conference entitled "10 Preconceptions about Digital", where he will discuss how digital transformation can be a challenge for companies. By focusing on a series of pertinent examples, Mr. Nova will discuss the increasingly important role of digital technology and how we’ve come to depend on it. He’ll explain how artificial intelligence technology and big data have shaken things up in the industrial and cultural worlds.
This will help everyone understand current and future challenges in the cultural industries with the growing importance of algorithmic production and its impact on other industries.
Nicolas Nova, who will be sharing his expertise at this Grand Amphi, is a professor at Geneva University of Art and Design (HEAD) and co-founder of the Near Future Laboratory, an innovative research agency. Author of Beyond Design Ethnography (SHS Publishing) and Futurs ? La panne des imaginaires technologiques (Les Moutons Électriques), he teaches ethnography, future research and design fiction. His work lies at the intersection between social sciences and fine arts in the digital field, bringing him to work on research projects mixing ethnographic approaches and design.
