Image Learning Project in Europe
French Minister for Culture and Communication, Aurélie Filippetti, has expressed the wish to test CITIA's Image Learning Project in view to expanding it in Europe.
Aurélie Filippetti became interested in this learning project using images during her visit to Annecy 2013.
The project is currently being tested in Annecy's twin town of Vicenza in Italy, where primary school classes and their teachers are learning to create a short animated film on iPads, aided by Daniel Bouillot, Head of Training and Research at CITIA, and another specialised teacher.
Testing is made up of 4 phases:
- Preparation: presentation of the project to the interested parties, inventory of resources, planning of different steps, defining objectives. Meeting and initiating the teachers to animated images and the creation process.
- Conception: teachers and pupils come up with a story, its characters, set/decor, sound effects and ways of creating it. They produce a full storyboard, with the help of CITIA if required.
- Production: Daniel Bouillot and the specialist teacher go to Italy to finalise preparations, shoot and edit the film in the classes.
- Development: local distribution in schools and for parents of DVDs containing the films produced in Italy. Films also added to the DVDs of films made in Annecy. General feedback.
If the testing proves positive, the project could then be developed in other towns across Europe.
