First Short Films in the Official Selection
The Annecy Festival reveals a first part of the Official Selection: the shorts!
Once again this year, the Annecy Festival has beaten its record for submissions with 2,800 films received from 95 countries.
The team behind sifting through these films is made up of the Festival’s Artistic Director Marcel Jean, the Films and Programme Planning department, with Laurent Million, Yves Nougarède and Sébastien Sperer, and for the first time, the director of La Cinémathèque de Grenoble, Peggy Zejgman-Lecarme.
Also, two new categories have been created this year; Perspectives and Young Audiences that carry two new special prizes, the City of Annecy Award and the Young Audience Award.

After weeks of screening and deliberation, you can now discover this year’s Short Films in Competition in the Official Selection (excluding TV Series & Specials):
- 87 Short Films, including 11 Off-Limits Shorts, 21 Perspective Shorts and 10 Young Audience Shorts
- 49 Graduation Films

Between now and the end of March, the Annecy International Animation Film Festival will unveil the last category for the Short Films in Competition: TV Series/Specials and Commissioned Films.
Last but not least, the Feature Films in and out of Competition will be announced during the press conference!
