2 Winners for the Swiss-French Co-Production Meeting!
For the first time, a jury of broadcasters attended the Swiss-French Co-Production Meeting at this year's Geneva International Film Festival Tous Écrans, to reward one of the projects presented.
Due to the quality, richness and diversity of the work presented at this year's Swiss-French Co-Production Meeting for promoting co-productions through project presentations, the jury of broadcasters decided to reward two of their favourites.
Congratulations to the two winners:
– VALKARAN, dans la gueule de la baleine: French documentary project by Christian Lelong / Cinédoc Films
Summary: "Valkaran is the former name of the little village of Billings set on the lagoon, bordering the Arctic Ocean, in eastern Siberia. When I went there last year, Vukvukaï, Chukchi shaman and head of the 9th brigade of reindeer herders, promised me a bearskin.... I went back to find it and spend some time with Guéna, Svetlana, Anrey and Nadia while waiting for him to arrive... They told their stories, about their lives spent in this village, so far away and cold, where only bears enjoy strolling around. The days pass and there is still no sign of Vukvukaï..."
